How it works

1. Request your free kit
   Order online. We dispatch kits the same day for requests made before 3pm, Monday to Friday.
2. Pack your gold securely
   Place your items in the tamper-proof bag and follow the simple instructions included. Remove any gemstones you want to keep first.
3. Send it by Royal Mail Special Delivery
   Hand it in at any Post Office and keep your receipt. It's tracked all the way to us.
4. Same-day testing & valuation
   We test and weigh your gold the day it arrives and send you a clear, itemised offer.
5. Get paid the same working day
   Accept your offer and we pay you by bank transfer the same working day.

Is selling gold by post safe?

Yes, when it's sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery to an established buyer. Your parcel is tracked and signed for, with Royal Mail compensation up to £2,500.00 We open every parcel under CCTV, log, test and weigh each item, and record every valuation. As NAJ members we follow the National Association of Jewellers' Code of Conduct. If you don't accept the offer, we send everything back free.

How is my offer worked out?

We weigh each item on calibrated scales and confirm its carat with non-destructive XRF testing. The carat tells us how much pure gold an item contains: 9ct is 37.5% gold, 18ct is 75% and 22ct is 91.6%. We price that gold from the UK gold price per gram on the day we test your items, and send you an itemised offer showing the weight, carat and price of every piece.

Example: a 10g 9ct chain contains 3.75g of pure gold, so at today's guide price we would pay about £308.20 for it. Your final itemised offer is confirmed once we test your items.

Gemstones, non-gold items and testing

We buy precious metal only. We don't pay for gemstones, and once you accept an offer, stones can't be returned, so remove any you want to keep before posting. If you decline, your items come back with their stones in place. Items that turn out not to be gold are sent back free of charge. XRF testing doesn't mark your jewellery; we only cut or acid-test an item with your permission.
